Hanna Schultz, Ph.D.

Hanna is a licensed clinical psychologist certified to practice in the state of Ohio (P.08549). She works as an independent contractor for Monarch Counseling as a provider of evidenced-based psychological testing and treatments for children (ages 5+), adolescents, and adults.

Hanna specializes in treatments for anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional and behavioral problems, learning disorders, and ADHD. She also specializes in comprehensive psychoeducational (including school-related and personality) testing to determine factors affecting a student’s learning, socialization, and other areas of daily functioning. Additionally, she provides interventions for young athletes working through mental health issues, such as performance anxiety, fear of re-injury, coping with removal from play, identity development, and return-to-sports (or work or school) transitions after sustaining an injury. As a former collegiate and competitive athlete, Hanna learned receiving help is not a form of weakness, but rather a form of strength and empowerment toward skill improvement and sense of identity. She considers psychological testing as a crucial step to treatment planning and a powerful agent of therapeutic change toward clarity, understanding, and growth in the self and daily functioning. The mechanisms of one’s interests and preferences, areas of strength and need, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions are not always straightforward. Psychological evaluations can help tease apart and learn more about what makes you “you” within your home and communities, and what can help you be the best self you want to be. She approaches clients with authenticity and acceptance, cultural humility, a holistic perspective, and splashes of humor and art. The interventions used in treatment planning integrate self, social, and environmental factors to create and work toward goals. The types of skills Hanna typically teaches her clients align with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and behavioral activation, and they are skills she practices herself. Not all skills work for everyone, so she dedicates her time with each client to identify what works best for them to use consistently and effectively.

Hanna accepts self-pay for services at this time; however, she is in progress of accepting some insurance networks, which will be listed when available. She also accepts out-of-network benefits, and can provide a superbill (i.e., a list of services received and paid) that you can submit to your claims department.
